You've come up with some really great reasons both for and against being a DOC Ranger. I hadn't thought about not being able to see your family; it must get quite lonely at times. I imagine it'd be a very rewarding job though. Which would go a long way towards making the sacrifice worth it, don't you think? A friend of mine used to work for DOC and he loved it! He always had wonderful stories to tell about the places he'd been and the things he'd helped do to preserve our environment. What kinds of animals would you most like to work with if you became a ranger?
