Straw Rafts

In Inquiry we are learning about The Design Process. The Design Process is where you plan, design and test a product or theory. Sometimes when you test it, doesn't work and you have to start at the beginning again to see how you would make it better. Mrs McG gave us a challenge. We had to plan, design and build a straw raft to see if it floats with 40g of weight on it. We could only use 20 straw and tape. Our raft failed one time because it was long and the straws where far away for each other. We did some research about how rafts float and found out that you need gravity and buoyancy to make a raft float. We found building our raft the most challenging because measuring the straws and putting them in the right spots.

 

How many liters of cola in this pool

Today we watched a video. It was about two people fulling their pool up with cocoa-cola. I wonder why they where doing this. Also I think it weighs over a liter what about you?

Math-Triangles

For the last couple of days in math me and Kaela have been making this big triangle out of little triangle. We found it really hard because we couldn't find the right pieces in the places. But when we done it was a amazing and it looks super cool.

Eightness Of Eight

For the last week or so Miss Golins math has been making videos about moving and Eightness of Eight I don't know what Eightness of Eight means but I will find out soon. I liked making this video and I hope you enjoy it.

Today in Math Strand we got given A sheet of paper and on that piece of paper was a lot of difference squares we had to full out them and draw things in them. We learnt that you say the letter first and then the number last. We had to do two things. First thing we have to do was find a picture and then write it down say like D1 for the pond or something like that. Next thing we had to draw pictures in the right place. and color it in.

Pigeon Impossible

Today I watched a sort about a pigeon that try's to sell a something from Walter someone who lives in Washington D.C the pigeon got into the his beathcase and start pressing buttons.

The Split Up

In writing we have this called "can do" me and Arnicka we've writing a book called the split up its about a family that splits up because the mother gives birth on holiday and she has no idea about have a baby.

Today in math we have to watch a video about marbles that were falling into a glass. We had to identify the pattern. The pattern was in 10s. Making it 100 marbles

Fortune Teller

My writing class had to make fortune tellers and then try and make instructions about How to Make a Fortune Teller/ I liked making my fortune teller because I could see if my friends will have good or bad fortunes in life. I also liked coloring it in. In my instructions I didn't say that you could color it in. But do what ever you like to it.
